The BSNR is delighted to announce that from January 2025, an annual programme of NHSE-funded monthly online teaching sessions will begin. Each themed session will run on the morning of the 4th Thursday of each month. The programme is targeted at ST1-3 registrars, and all UK trainees are encouraged to attend. Each session will include four themed lectures with interactive cases, shared via PACSbin.

The course has been put together by a collaboration of Medical Physics departments in and around London with the aim of providing high quality RPS training in an online format during the Covid-19 pandemic.Course material will be delivered through e-learning in advance of the "live" training day, online lectures and virtual workshops in small breakout groups. Delegates will have the opportunity for discussion with an RPA. For those wishing to receive a certificate of RPS training, there will be a short open-book assessment.The core of competence stated in the HSE Ionising Radiations Report No. 6 for Radiation Protection Supervisors will be covered. The lectures and workshops will draw on the wide range of experience of our RPAs and Clinical Scientists.Details of the learning to be completed in advance of the training day will be sent to you after registration.The final timetable and details of how to join the live training will be emailed a few days before the event.

This live session covers the common clinical indications, key terminology, radiopharmaceuticals used, stress methods, scanning protocols, patient preparation and positioning, image evaluation including common pathologies and identification of common artefacts in cardiac imaging.

The purpose of this event is to enhance professional skills in Nuclear Medicine by engaging in interactive learning, practical scenarios, and collaborative discussions.
